Brandon Hoekstra

Brandon worked at CDW as a 9-time President's Achievement Award winner over his 15-year career working with Enterprise clients globally.

Experience

Brandon worked at CDW as a 9-time President's Achievement Award winner over his 15-year career working with Enterprise clients globally. He went on to win President's Club at EMC as a Field Executive in Chicago for 3 years. He also worked at Cisco on the App-Dynamics Team, Snowflake, Nutanix, and LAVA Technology Services. After 22 years in the business, he started Pelican XC with a focus in the Florida Enterprise market. After only our second year, we were ranked #50 out of 4,318 Advisors in the USA. Brandon has 2 sons, Miles (7) and Parker (10) and lives in Lakewood Ranch, FL. He enjoys time with his boys and their hobbies of karate, soccer, football, violin, tennis, golf, art and illustration. Personally, Brandon is a golf fanatic and always interested to network on the course. Aside from Pelican XC, Brandon is in the process of building out a charity to support families with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Mike Schmidt

Mike recently retired from Deloitte as the US/Global Chief Information Officer for their Audit & Assurance business.

Experience

Mike recently retired from Deloitte as the US/Global Chief Information Officer for their Audit & Assurance business. He was responsible for the overall technology strategy, direction, operation, and enablement of the Audit & Assurance business. He provided leadership for the technology architecture, development and deployment of Audit & Assurance Products and Solutions. He was member of the Global Audit & Assurance Executive, Global Audit & Assurance Transformation and Change Executive, and US Audit & Assurance Transformation and Technology Leadership team. He chaired the Global Audit & Assurance People Council and DevHub Steering Committee. He also represented the Audit & Assurance business on the US Technology Governance Board, US CTO Council, Global Deloitte Technology Executive, Technology Risk Oversight Council, Global Software Council along with numerous other business and technology related governance forums.

Mike worked previously as a technology executive leading major transformation initiatives across complex environments and multiple industries including Professional Services, Telecommunications, Retail, and Aerospace.

Mike is active in the mentoring of aspiring technology executives as well as high school Science Technology Engineering and Math students in the Tampa Bay area. He honorably served in the US Army as a Counterintelligence Officer and works with several veterans' affinity groups to help them transition from military to civilian life. He was the founding chair of FloridaCIO and Chairman Emeritus of the Central FloridaCIO Advisory Board. He was awarded as the 2022 Global CIO of the Year by InspireCIO (and a finalist for the 2023 Super Global CIO of the Year). He lives in St. Petersburg, Florida with his wife Shana where they enjoy life on the water, travel, and various outdoor activities. They have two sons, two daughters, and four grandchildren.

John O. Cooper V (“Coop”)

An experienced enterprise technology consultant with two decades spent building at-scale frameworks supporting sales organizations.

John is an experienced enterprise technology consultant who has spent two decades building at-scale frameworks supporting sales organizations. After changing careers and leaving finance, he helped launch an very early hosted global UC platform in 2010; scaled a UC/collaboration SME team from 2 to mor than 20 supporting a 180-person sales organization; helped launch and mature a global Microsoft Voice practice and worked closely with Microsoft to bring their first multi-tenant voice architecture to market; and created evaluation frameworks that have guided 600+ UCaaS and 250+ CCaaS/CX initiatives across every vertical, including 26 Fortune 500 enterprises—driving measurable savings and better customer/employee experiences that drive business outcomes.

Across roles with IceWarp, Arkadin/NTT, RingCentral, and ARG/IT Clarity, John earned multiple Presidents Club honors (11X), contributed to leading tech outlets, and served
on SaaS partner advisory boards at multiple market leaders. Today at Pelican XC, Coop partners with IT, Finance, and Business leaders to orchestrate rigorous data-driven assessments of their existing ICT strategies; with a focus on providing market education and insights to identify opportunities for optimization and innovation.
